This is probably my biggest organization flex. I have a few details I want to expand on before I give you the links. This is just a list I have curated (also, mostly during COVID isolation) to make packing for trips easier. I know some people are able to pack the morning they leave for a flight and be fine. I am not. I am a maximalist and a creature of comfort. Not having what i want/need when I could have had it is akin to stepping on legos for me.
HOW TO USE THE LIST
- I try to clean the house the week before a trip. Get everything that is out of place, into the room it belongs in.
- I then go through the list and mark off anything I don’t need for the trip.
- From there, I organize the list in word by room. Whatever I need from each category, is put into the room it is currently living in. This keeps me from running around the house, sweating, and worn out before the trip even starts.
- I go to each room with my list, gather the items I need and bring them to the suitcase station.
- Once I have everything gathered, I figure out what bag’s I’ll need and start packing.
- I make a list of items I need to still pack but aren’t accessible because they’re being washed or I need them before we leave (ID, phone, chargers, etc). I grab those items the morning we leave.
HOW TO ACCESS THE LIST
You have three options, well technically five. I use word and iphone notes
- You can copy and paste the list from my website into word and or your iPhone notes, here.
- You can download the PDF and print it or access it on your tablet, here.
- You can access the google sheets version, here
Each is formatted for the specific method. If you want to print it, print it from the PDF, which is formatted for printing.
